Where to meet in the Munich Airport

Is there a logical place to meet in the Munich Airport. I need to meet a friend there in June. She will be arriving from Amsterdam on a US Carrier and I will be arriving from Lithuania via Baltic Air. We are scheduled to arrive within 30 minutes of each other.

Will we have to go through customs?

Is there an easy to identify place to meet and wait for each other? Is there any type of message service in case we don%26#39;t find each other or someone is very late?

Does anyone know if Verizon phones work in Europe?

Thanks, Becky

Becky: There is a Hofbrau restaurant - upstairs in the %26quot;middle%26quot; of Joseph-Strauss Int%26#39;l in Munchen.. You cannot miss the sign. That is an excellent meeting place. You will have to go thru Passport Control - but it is usually only a 5 to 10 min wait tops.

Verizon only works there is you have an Int%26#39; SIM Card in your phone.

Here is the Kuffler Hofbrauhaus link:

I guess you will arrive in different terminals. The sensible place is in the semi-open courtyard between the two terminals, which I think is where sunskin means.

It%26#39;s at street level, and is covered over if it should rain.

Actually, there is a meeting place within the Munich Airport-- the %26quot;Meeting Point Cafe%26quot; or Treffpunkt. It is in Terminal one at the point where all the concourses exit into the shopping area. There is a large open seating area where one can have a coffee, sit, and wait for your friends. It is marked, throughout terminal 1, by a sign that looks like a black square with a white dot in the center and 4 white arrows (one east, one west, one North etc) pointing at the dot. Easiest way to find it is--- immediately after getting off the plane, look at some of the concourse kiosks for one with a bunch of small Green pamphlets (airport guides). The Treffpunkt is clearly marked. You can also find it here munich-airport.de/en/…index.jsp I believe that AirBaltic uses terminal 1. I don%26#39;t know which airline your friend is using--- if Delta, then she will be in terminal 1 also-- if United, terminal 2.(You can also check at munich-airport.de/en/…index.jsp -- just click on the airline logo)

A normal USA Verizon phone will not work in Europe. To use the USA Verizon phone plan in Europe, you must enroll in Global roaming and the cell phone must be one of the specific Verizon %26#39;Global%26#39; phones.

If you have an %26#39;unlocked%26#39; tri or quad-band GSM phone, you could buy and use a Germany SIM card.
