Swine Flu screening

We are planning to meet up with some friends from USA in Frankfurt for a 12 day trip of germany at the end of May.

We are coming from India and they are coming in from USA so we were wondering with all the viral flu spread in USA and no sign of it in India, are passengers from USA being screened at Frankfurt airport before entering Germany???

Thanks

As of 10 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) is reporting a total of 4379 cases, with 49 deaths. This reflects a 1.1% mortality rate -- which is far better than the mortality rate for the flus that break out annually around the world. (think of it that 98.9% of people recover from this one!)

Out of 6 billion people on the face of the earth, this means you have an excellent chance of not even being exposed to the virus, and an even lower chance of actually catching it.

The WHO is also advising AGAINST any travel restrictions.

Read the daily updates at www.who.int -- and carry on with your journey.

thanks for the reply.

we are planning to travel anyway but we were worried about our USA based friends (who are distant relatives actually) being infected or being unknowing carriers.

Obviously, there%26#39;s no way to say no way, but it%26#39;s highly unlikely -- there are no screenings being done in any of the major airports any more.
