We are trying to travel from Munich to Zurich on the 26th of May..The train fare seems to be really high..Is there a bus service between these two places?
|||
52 Euro?
It doesn%26#39;t seem exorbitant to me for the journey. But it%26#39;s a long ride. Have you thought of the plane?

There are still € 39.-- train specials available for this date, i don%26#39;t think you can get it cheaper:

Start: M
Destination: Zurich HB
Enter your data in the fields, click %26quot;search%26quot;, after that click %26quot;check all%26quot; in the column %26quot;saving fares%26quot;, give your age and click %26quot;refresh%26quot;.
If you are using an online ticket, make sure to carry the booking confirmation and the very same payment card you used to make the booking with you.

Easiest would be the direct EuroCity EC train 194 which departs at 12:34 and arrives at 16:44. Travel time is 4h 10m. This train travels a short distance through Austria and it is not uncommon for Austrian officers to board the train and check Passports.
Departures at different times throughout the day will take longer and involve several change of trains.
Remember that you are allowed to bring your own favorite snacks, food and beverages on board the trains in Europe. Saves money over the trolley or Bordrestaurant car prices.

Is this for a return trip?
Otherwise this is really expensive.
Best is to buy directly from DB (German Rail).
|||
Oh really..It was a one way ticket. Thanks for the info..we were just going to buy it but now I will check the German rail schedules and prices..
|||
I bought Munich to Interlaken on bahn.de for June 1 for €39 each for DH and me, the kids are free. Now the ride is exceptionally long as we have some longer connections and slower trains.

%26gt; we were just going to buy it but now I will check the German rail schedules and prices.
Normal price for the direct EC trains is EUR 64,00.
You can get tickets for this price on spot in Munich.
You don%26#39;t have to buy in advance. Tickets cannot sell out!!! (I know this is difficult to understand if you%26#39;re not from this part of the world).
Such a normal price international train ticket is valid 2 months (!) and allows stopovers en route.
Specials start from EUR 39,00. If you want one of these you have to buy in advance. These tickets are valid only for the connection they have been bought for. No change. No refund.
There are plenty of connections from Munich to Zürich during the day. However only 3 direct EC trains.
Munich Hbf departure 12:34, 16:34 and 18:34
Zürich HB arrival 16:44, 20:44 and 22:44
