Berlin

A novely perhaps, but I am a young-ish Englishman who does not want to go to Berlin to get pissed and get with local girls !!!

I am toying with the idea of doing the Berlin Marathon 2009.

Basically, anybody have any comments on the race, is it a big / good event.

If I extend my trip to a long weekend, what are the %26quot;must see/do%26quot; things in Berlin.

It%26#39;s one of the biggest and fastest marathons.

Last year: 40.000 runners, 1 million spectators and Haile Gebrselassie run a new world record (2:03:59 h).

What are your interests? With a long weekend you won%26#39;t get that far in Berlin. Even when running.

Best is to start with one of the walking tours to get an overview and see at least many important sights.

well if I run the marathon, sitting and drinking and eating will be my interests, post the race ;)

Seriously though, I would like to see all the historical parts of Berlin, from the old East / West divide etc.
