Where to stay?

Hi,

We are heading north (to Denmark) from Italy via Lienz. We depart on a Saturday in July, and have to be inside Denmark tuesday night (catch the ferry to Norway on wednesday).

My plan is to have the first night in the area around Kitzbuhl, we have been here before, so we would like to stay in another small, nice place. Any suggestion?

On sunday we would like to drive ???

if we go around Rothenburg o.T. we are able to stay here 2 nights. And then go to Denmark on Tuesday. Or else we can do two seperate villages.

We have done this trip several times, so I%26#39;m out of ideas of beatiful towns/ places, so I will preciate all helps.

We are not very keen on museums, but we like marvellous scenes, nice small villages e.g.

... and which places on that route have you already visited on previous trips?

We have been to Fussen, Rothenburg o.T.,Dinkelsbuhl, Goslar, Fulda,Lindau, Garmich Partenkirchen, Gunzburg (incl. Legoland)

Ok so we don%26#39;t have to recommend these again... ;-)

Fränkische Schweiz (%26quot;Franconian Switzerland%26quot;), a hilly landscape north of Nürnberg with rocks and caves, little romantic towns/villages like Pottenstein, Gößweinstein..., excellent local beers, microbreweries everywhere.

Close by: Bamberg

Wine towns and villages on the Main - Volkach, Iphofen..., easily combined with Würzburg

In Hessen: Marburg, then continue north on country roads via Frankenberg, Eder lake, Korbach, Arolsen

Göttingen, old university town. Two small towns famous for their half-timbered houses nearby: Duderstadt and Einbeck

Weser valley - Hameln, Höxter, Corvey monastery...

In Thüringen: over Thüringer Wald hills, Rudolstadt, Erfurt, Mühlhausen, Eisenach and Wartburg castle

Along the Harz: Wernigerode, Quedlinburg, steam railway up the Brocken

... enough for at least five more trips!

Thank you very much!

Now I%26#39;ve got something to look into.
