I will be in Stuttgart this saturday and sunday. I love history, food, beer and wine. CAn someone give me a couple of suggestions of things to do each day? I know that the stores are closed on sunday so I%26#39;m trying to set my schedule accordingly.

See my personal message which I sent you before I saw this message which has a lot of suggestions.
For history, the Wuerttemberg Museum in the Old Palace covers the period from the Ice Age (world%26#39;s first art -small mammoth ivory pendants- and musical instrument -swan%26#39;s bone flute-from 36,000 years ago) to the early 1800s. From then to present is the House of History, but I much prefer the first museum. Your admission ticket also allows you access to the Music Instrument Museum nextdoor on Schillerplatz, and to the Roman artifacts in the basement of the New Palace across the street. Oh, and as part of the Mercedes Benz Museum, there is a time line on the wall as you spiral down between floors with events that occurred since the invention of the automobile. It%26#39;s intesting to see what news events were selected, and as you have lived through some of this time, you can relate to them.
Within the Old Palace inside the museum is also a display on the Staufenberg brothers, and a memorial to them which can be entered from the east side opposite Karlsplatz. They used to live in the Old Palace as their father was an advisor to the King.
I also forgot to mention the nice flea market on Karlsplatz (across from both palaces) every Saturday. They have some nice things. Saturday is a market day, so there will be a flower market on Schillerplatz and a fruit and vegetable market on Marktplatz in front of the Rathaus (City Hall). These markets close before 2PM.
