Hello
I will be visiting Berlin in September and I am told bus route 100 would be the best to take. Is there a map online which shows the route this number takes? I have searched with no luck.
We will be staying at Hotel Berlin which i understand is near Lutzow Pl. We only have three days in Berlin - so i want to maximise what we see in such little time.
Any ideas or help with a suggested itinerary and best public transport options to get around would be greatly appreciated. I have guide books and such but nothing is better than local knowledge.
Many thanks in advance

this is the link to Berlin Traffic.
http://www.bvg.de/index.php/de/Bvg/Detail/folder/644/id/2408/nb/1/name/Tagesbuslinien+100+-+128
on the right hand side of this page you see Liniennetz - this show all the buses. And on %26#39;Linienverlauf Bus 100%26#39; you will find all the busstops
there is a page www.bus100.de but unfortunately only in German - good luck!!

Hi there,
Thanks for your help! - went on both sites - both great! - Many thanks!

Bus 100 does go by Lutzow Platz. It connect (roughly) the Zoo station, Bellevue, the Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor and Alexander Platz.
Bus 200 is also useful for tourists. It connects the Zoo station, Potsdamer Platz (use the Varian Fry strasse stop), Brandenburger Tor and Alexander Platz.
Since you will be in Berlin for three days, buy one of the 72 hour passes. The pass is good for 72 hours after you first validate it, so if you leave early on the fourth day, you might be still able to use the pass to get to the airport or rail station of your departure.
Berlin is spread out but the transport system is excellent. With a pass, you can use the bus, tram, U-bahn and S-bahns.

Depends how many there are of you; if several then a daily %26quot;Kleingruppenkarte%26quot; may be better value. It%26#39;s around 16€ a (15.90 zones AB, 16.10€ ABC) a day and up to 5 people can use it.
We quite often buy one for our family of 3 as by the third journey you%26#39;ve more than covered the cost, even for 3 of you. With 5 people travelling, it%26#39;s a snip!

There are two other useful public transport options for sightseeing: the S-Bahn route line between Savinyplatz/Zoologischer Garten and Hackescher Markt/Alexanderplatz gives you great views of the new government district, Reichstag, Friedrichstrasse station and the museums on Museum Island. Better views from Zoo to Alex than the other direction but both good. You cd step out in Hauptbahnhof to look at the new central station too.
Another interesting bus route is the M29 from Kreuzberg to Zoo. There%26#39;s a good article on it here: budgettravel.com/bt-srv/…
All these buses are double deckers which adds to the interest. Stops are announced and/or appear on panels so it%26#39;s easy to work out where to get on and one.

dear all,
i would like to use this topic for a similar question.
all this welcome-cards-etc are a little confusing to me. what would be the best deal for the following situation:
- six people total.
- staying a total of three days.
- berlin and potsdam would be required.
thanks a lot!
