frankfurt rail

I%26#39;m looking for a rail ticket from frankfurt to bern for when i arrive at frankfurt intrnational airport. I have found considerably cheaper tickets from the main railway station (frankfurt hauptbahnhof). I wonder if anyone could advise how easy it is to get from the airport railway station to the hauptbahnhof, and how long it is likely to take? Thanks

there is a S-Bahn (metro) from the airport to the main station that takes 12 minutes. It leaves Frankfurt airport normally every 15-20 min.

It surprises me that the tickets from the main station should be considerably cheaper....

Thanks ++++ for the superquick answer. This forum thing is great! Actually mostly the prices are broadly similar however there was a particular ICE trip that was really cheap out of the hauptbahnhof, but i just don%26#39;t know if i would be able to make the connection. Cheers

%26quot;Super cheap%26quot; probably means that discount tickets are still offered. I hope you are aware that a) these tickets are only valid on this particular train and if you miss it the ticket is lost and you have to buy a new full fare one, b) there is only a very small number of these tickets available per train which sell out quickly and when they are sold out, they are sold out.

If the timetable information shows these discount prices this does not necessarily mean that they are really still available, you won%26#39;t know unless you make the system check. If the discount price is indeed still available, lucky you, but book ASAP, otherwise they will be gone.
