My husband is currently in Vilseck, Germany... I am 33 weeks pregnant... so we are trying to get him home for about 10 days once I have the baby... Is Frankfurt the best airport to try and fly out of or is Nuremburg

Frankfurt is a %26quot;gateway%26quot; airport and so has more flights and more competition than most other German airports. I%26#39;ve found that it is also usually cheaper than other German destinations.
Go to a website like Travelocity and play around with departure dates and airports and see what pops up. Mid-week departures are cheaper than weekends.

I would try using both airports to see what you come up with. Actually your destination in the (I take it) US might determine the best options. Besides the airlines flying to the US feom Frankfurt (mainly Lufthansa and US carriers) look at flying Air France via Paris, KLM via Amsterdam, or BA via London. They may be much cheaper and either airport probably can be used. Also, you can often inexpensively have the train part of the journey within Germany places on the airline ticket at a very low cost at the time of booking.

Nuremberg airport is the closest (1,25 hrs by train). But I don%26#39;t know it there are any direct flights into the US.
The next options are Munich Airport (MUC) (3 hrs by train) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) (3,25-3,75 hrs by train). The two main intercontinental airhubs in Germany. To fly from Nuremberg Airport to them first makes time wise and mostlikely also price wise no sense.
To get to Munich or Frankfurt Airport a good deal is a Rail%26amp;Fly ticket if offered by the airline.
