7 Days in Munich-Need Itinerary Advice...

We are three girls in our mid-20%26#39;s traveling to Munich June 5-12th...we would like to see:

Munich

Dauchau

Neschwanstein

Mittenwald

Garmisch

and some lakes or water activities...

Do you think it is best to stay a few night in each place or base ourselves in Munich and make day trips, etc...

If anyone has any itinerary suggestions-please post them!!!

I would highly recommend basing yourselves in Munchen, at either Wombat%26#39;s or 4youMunchen Hostel, then taking the train (purchase week pass at www.db.de/) back %26amp; forth on day trips. You can also spend an afternoon or two at the Englischer Garten, watching some locals - or joinging in - surfing the Isar river!

Bar serving German or Bavarian Beers

Hi everybody !!

I%26#39;d transiting in Frankfurt next two weeks, and would love to find a quite, comfy bar who serving lots genuine german or bavarian beers, to be specific the weissbier or the pale..

That would be authentic German bars perhaps.. so anybody know where can I find them in main city ?

I certainly will go the Paulaner, but like to drink much more bavarian beers.

Need a hotel!

After all my planning in the Berchtesgaden region, I am unable to find a hotel to stay on June 28. We will also be traveling to Hallstatt, Austria and I could stay in that area but there are also no rooms there! Does anyone know a good hotel maybe between the two or somewhere close?

We have visited Berchtesgaden many times and stayed at the Pension-Kropfleiten. It is in a nice area with wonderful views of the alps and they have sheep in their meadow. The owners speak english and are very helpful. The web site is www.pension-kropfleiten.de

We are arriving at Frankfurt Airport on Thursday march 20th at 12:20pm and wish to travel by train to Mannheim .

Since there are two rail stations in Frankfurt airport about 200-300 m apart from each other, you should go for Fernbahnhof (aka AiRail Terminal) and not for the Regionalbahnhof.

Hi all,

How long time do you think it takes to walk from the arrivals gate to the Fernbahnhof? Will I make that in 25 minutes if I have checked luggage? It sounds improbable, doesn%26#39;t it. :)

25 minutes after landing or after getting your luggage?

I would at least suggest to calculate

45 minutes after landing at Terminal 1

60 minutes after landing at Terminal 2

before getting on a train.

Keep in mind:

1. there are frequent trains from Frankfurt Airport to Mannheim. Normally at least 2 per hour.

2. Normal price tickets are flexible. You can take any later train on the same day.

3. You can always buy tickets on spot. Train tickets cannot sell out in Germany (there is no compulsory reservation system).
