Trouble booking train tkts online

I managed to book all our other train tkts just fine and printed them out at home.

For some reason the bahn.de website is not letting us get past the purchase page. We entered all our info correctly, but it won%26#39;t proceed to booking and confirmation.

Thoughts

Phone number? We checked with telus and she said we entered the country code correctly.

We tried our B %26amp; B%26#39;s number in Germany.

Registered or not?

We tried to book tkts %26quot;unregistered%26quot;--doesn%26#39;t seem to be a reason for us to register. We used our cc as requested but it won%26#39;t process.

Checked and double checked all the info. Thalys, IDTGV and SNCF all booked without any problem

Any ideas? Does the site just get fussy sometimes? Try again tomorrow?

Thanks

Your phone number or did you try to call DB?

You can call the DB booking center.

But if you have problems with the online booking I don%26#39;t think there is any number or mail address which will sort out this problem for you.

It%26#39;s better to register if there are any problems with your tickets. I.e. if you have to change or cancel something.

If it does not process from this point on, I guess the problem lies with in the 3rd party company which does the credit card check. Even if your credit card is not accepted there should be an according message.

Try it again later. Best during %26quot;normal%26quot; local times, i.e. 6am to midnight in Germany (CEST or GMT+2).

Re: telephone number:

There was a red message under the frame where you are to enter your telephone number. I tried entering our home # and then again with the German B %26amp; B tel #. Neither helped.

I phoned the DB phone number but it was all recorded and in German so I hung up.

I will try again by registering and see if that helps.

The only time that is really available for me to try is after 6 PM my time (which is about 3 AM in Germany).

If this doesn%26#39;t work..............does it cost a lot more to purchase point to point tkts in Germany? (There was a significant savings on the Thalys and France trains by booking early).

There are either the specials for the particular trains still available in the system (like those 29/39 € fares) in which case you can have a significant saving by booking them, or they are sold out (which usually happens very quickly after they are released) - then the full fare tickets cost the same wherever and whenever you buy them.

In which way did you enter your phone number? You have to add it without any special signs, for example(for a random number in Mannheim) 0049 621 1234567.

We figured it out.

The telephone had to be entered:

011 1 then 3 digit area code then our 7 digit phone number

We didn%26#39;t realize we needed to have 011 plus the 1

So tkts are booked, printed, and we are happy with the savings.

Thanks for the help.
