Hello Carme32,

there are boat trips on both Alster and Elbe.

On the Elbe, you can take the ferries within the HVV, Hamburg%26#39;s public transport. Your ticket for the public transport will be valid here and you%26#39;ll recognise them through the number of the line, eg. 62 posted at the side, see http://www.hadag.de/e_index.php and make sure you click on %26quot;Harbour Ferries%26quot;. They also offer %26quot;normal%26quot; sightseeing tours. It will show you the routes and schedules. As you can use eg. a day ticket for busses and trains on those ferries as well, it%26#39;s something worth considering. You probably won%26#39;t have the guides, but watching is far more interessting anyway.

See http://www.hvv.de/en/index.php for details on public transport systen in Hamburg, tickets and fares.

Besides the HADAG there are a number of other companies providing sightseeing tours in the Harbour. Once you walk along from the Landungsbrücken towards the Speicherstadt, the old storage city, now known as Hafencity, there are tours exclusively in this area as well.

There are ships serving the Alster as well and they run quite frequently. See http://www.alstertouristik.de/e_index.php for details.

You can take %26quot;cruises%26quot; that stop at several piers on their way up and down the Alster; or you can take round trips. Some boats go further north than the %26quot;cruises%26quot; do and others also go into the canals.

There%26#39;s really a great choice and you have to find what%26#39;s right for you...

I hope, this will help. Enjoy your stay in Hamburg!
