Can you guys help. This is a great forum. I have a couple of questions/clarifications.
If going Peiting to Lindau,- trip covered by lander ticket as both in Bavaria? We are travelling on a Friday but it is a public holiday. So can you still buy the lander ticket, 28 euros, or do you have to buy the happy weekend ticket, 37 euros?
The next day, Saturday, we are travelling Lindau to Stuttgart, so will use a happy weekend ticket, but then need to get to Strassbourg. Can you use the happy weekend tickt to get to the last station before Strassbourg and buy the ticket for the last section. We are catching the TGV, Strassbourg to Paris, which on a Sunday you can get for 88 euros for 4. So will train to Strasbourg late Saturday; we are spending the day at the Stuttgart zoo. The cheapest I can see for the 4 of us Stuttgart to Strasbourg is 87 euros. that doesn%26#39;t seem too bad. is there a better way to do this?
Hope you can help

The Bavaria group day train ticket will be fine from Peiting to Lindau.
On Saturday, use the Baden-Wuerttemberg group train day ticket for 28€, it%26#39;s cheaper than the Happy Weekend ticket. Although Lindau is in Bavaria, it is covered by the B-W ticket. Your B-W ticket will also be valid on the Stuttgart ( www.stuttgart-tourist.de ) buses, U-bahns, and S-bahns. To get to Wilhelma ( www.wilhelma.de ), the combination zoo botanical-garden, take the U-14 from the train station in the direction of Remseck to the Wilhelma stop. (Are you aware of the excellent Mercedes Benz Museum which is loved by all visitors -irregardless of age or gender- and documents the over 120 year history of the automobile and this firm, after all Stuttgart is the birthplace of the automobile?) If you are continuing on to Strasbourg the same day, your ticket is also valid to Kehl, just across the Rhine from Strasbourg. From then on, you will then have to use an inexpensive regular train ticket for the last few kilometers. Otherwise, if you are traveling on Sunday from Stuttgart, just buy another B-W group train ticket to use until Kehl.
Train information can be seen at www.bahn.de , just change to English near the top of the page. Also, select only local transportation, as then the faster long distance IC, EC and ICE trains which you cannot ride with these Lander tickets will not be shown.

Oh, I should mention that the French TGV terminates in Stuttgart, and it may be possible to get limited tickets on it to Paris for 29-39€ per person, if you purchase early enough.

Thanks so much marcopolko,
I have read your earlier posts on Stuttgart and was very informed by them. I think you are right about the Merceded-Benz museum. If we stay the night in Stuttgart and are able to catch our Paris train from here, we will have time to take in more interesting features of the area. I am still considering slowing the pace to allow 2 days in each stop. it just means we will have to cut some destinations from our itinerary at the end.
