We were considering Heidelberg for our last night in Germany instead of staying in Frankfurt, our departure airport.
The Marriott offers an airport shuttle which would be more convenient - at appears - than taking the train which requires a connection at the time we would be taking it to FRA.
I was told that the shuttle is not a good idea by a poster on another thread as the road can be very bad with traffic and could take a long time.
Anyone with personal experience on this? We have an 11:45am flight from FRA.
Thanks!

The A5/A6 near Frankfurt airport is known to be jammed about 50% of the time. It got better recently but if there is repair work it reverts to the old state again.
You can risk driving, or you can take a train. If by train, do change in Mannheim, not in Frankfurt HBf - it´s a smaller station with all tracks on the same level.
