Do 5 Deutschmark coins have value?

Have 5 five DM coins from when I was stationed

in Heidelberg.

Visiting this summer and wonder if they can be

redeemed snd if so, what value.

You can exchange them only at branches of the Bundesbank (the German Central Bank).

Select a main branch and than click on %26quot;Filialen%26quot; in the left menu.

The branches are normally only open on weekday mornings.

Or you throw the coin into a collecting box e.g. in a church or museum. Here such coins are collected and exchanged when the amount is high enough to justify a visit of a Bundesbank branch.

You could also speak to a coin shop or post it on eBay -- collectors are still seeking out pre-Euro currencies. It still won%26#39;t be worth much, though.
